[02:28:41] <bill-auger> because you do not need the previous versions - they would be unused, consuming disk space
[02:29:52] <bill-auger> if you want to keep them, you should use a backup tool such as borg, duplicity, etc - and have a very large backup disk to hold them all
[02:35:17] <bill-auger> also, if you do need some packages, they are kept for some time in the archive https://archive.archlinux32.org
