[17:06:18] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[17:06:22] <tyzoid> wb abaumann
[17:06:28] <tyzoid> I was afraid you were gone all weekend
[17:06:31] <abaumann> hi.
[17:06:36] <abaumann> almost. ;-)
[17:06:48] <abaumann> thanks for setting up the webmail client and the inbox. works. :-)
[17:07:02] <tyzoid> oh, you got on mail.tyzoid.com webmail?
[17:07:03] <tyzoid> sweet
[17:07:16] <abaumann> yes.
[17:07:30] <abaumann> I didn't know whether there was a POP or IMAP open. :-)
[17:07:56] <tyzoid> I should have both set, though if you like webmail, you probably should use imap
[17:08:13] <abaumann> ah. cool.
[17:08:38] <tyzoid> yeah, only encrypted, so 995 pop3 is open
[17:08:50] <abaumann> ok. I'll test..
[17:09:05] <abaumann> BTW: 784 packages are in the queue at the moment due to glibc.
[17:09:18] <tyzoid> Yeah... not much I can do from here xD
[17:09:21] <abaumann> I'm trying to build glibc/binutils/gcc and friends by hand on a core system.
[17:09:28] <tyzoid> ah, nice
[17:09:37] <abaumann> to see if the ld segfault persists.
[17:10:08] <abaumann> I really have problems to reproduce the debian8 on qemu problem..
[17:10:11] <abaumann> https://bbs.archlinux32.org
[17:10:12] <phrik> Title:Qemu not working with kernel >= 4.14 / Kernel & Hardware / Arch Linux 32 Forums (at bbs.archlinux32.org)
[17:10:18] <abaumann> because I have no problem. :-)
[17:10:53] <tyzoid> abaumann: he's going the other way
[17:10:56] <tyzoid> archlinux32 host, debian 8 guest
[17:10:56] <abaumann> Now it's clear, it's not related to the "Archiso32 in qemu" libvirt problem.
[17:11:04] <abaumann> yeah. seen that.
[17:11:25] <abaumann> just installing a debian8 on archlinux32 on a 10 year old eeepc. SLOW. :-)
[17:11:35] <tyzoid> lol
[17:12:31] <abaumann> aha.
[17:12:56] <abaumann> sysenter_past_esp attempted to kill init. mmh.
[17:14:18] <abaumann> let's try text install and 1 GB RAM in qemu..
[17:16:32] <abaumann> pop3 works, perfect. :-)
[17:16:37] <tyzoid> Nice.
[17:17:11] <tyzoid> looks like your client is set to delete from remote, though
[17:17:17] <abaumann> oups. :-)
[17:17:23] <abaumann> bad mutt.
[17:18:13] <tyzoid> doesn't matter to me at all, just as long as you're not trying to use the webclient
[17:18:30] <tyzoid> does mutt support imap, btw?
[17:18:38] <abaumann> not sure.
[17:18:40] * tyzoid should probably google search
[17:18:45] <abaumann> But there is offlineimap.
[17:19:26] <abaumann> but I'm usually quite happy with mutt on local mailboxes and occational webclient for new stuff.
[17:19:50] <abaumann> aha. too few memory for debian.
[17:19:57] <tyzoid> "To use IMAP with mutt, set spoolfile to an IMAP URL of the form: imap[s]://[<username>[:<password>]@]<server>/[<mailbox>]"
[17:20:02] <tyzoid> so yeah, they do support it
[17:20:04] <abaumann> now I have a blinking cursor on the bottom.
[17:20:10] <abaumann> ah. sweet.
[17:20:12] <tyzoid> might give it a try soon
[17:20:35] <tyzoid> I usually use my phone/the web interface as my primary email clients, though
[17:20:40] <abaumann> I came via pine, elm to mutt. :-)
[17:21:03] <tyzoid> do you have a google account, btw?
[17:21:22] <abaumann> yeah. I think so.
[17:21:30] <tyzoid> you ever use it?
[17:21:32] <abaumann> but I don't use it very ofter.
[17:21:37] <abaumann> *often.
[17:21:37] <tyzoid> ah
[17:21:53] <abaumann> but I still have a Yahoo acocunt, almost since they started services.
[17:21:59] <tyzoid> ah, lol
[17:22:44] <tyzoid> I'm currently pretty heavily integrated with google's ecosystem with mail, drive, photos, docs, etc.
[17:23:25] <tyzoid> But I just got nextcloud set up again, so I'm looking at moving over to that
[17:23:31] <abaumann> never did that. Google too often says "squirrel.." and drops apps and services just to start some new ones..
[17:23:48] <tyzoid> I mean, their core services aren't really going away
[17:23:55] <abaumann> their search, no.
[17:24:01] <abaumann> the rest..?
[17:24:04] <tyzoid> No, I mean the business apps
[17:24:08] <tyzoid> like drive, mail, etc.
[17:24:12] <tyzoid> youtube
[17:24:17] <abaumann> drive, mail will stay.
[17:24:20] <abaumann> youtube, not sure.
[17:24:35] <abaumann> if they cannot make it profitable..
[17:24:39] <tyzoid> idk. the only service of theirs that I use that I can see going away is voice
[17:24:50] <tyzoid> afaik youtube is profitable, because ads
[17:24:53] <abaumann> I remember "Google Code"
[17:25:21] <tyzoid> Google Answers
[17:25:25] <tyzoid> Google Reader
[17:25:59] <tyzoid> but those were never really profitable / served a business function
[17:27:05] <tyzoid> Code was their repo for open source projects for a while, not sure what they use now
[17:27:24] <abaumann> github, as everybody else, I presume.
[17:27:25] <tyzoid> but their argument was 'hey, it's mostly abandoned projects here, and there's better alternatives out there'
[17:27:57] <abaumann> BTW: the webmail client looks nice on the phone. :-)
[17:28:09] <tyzoid> yeah, rainloop is quite nice.
[17:28:20] <tyzoid> Only thing that it doesn't have that I really want to integrate is password changing
[17:28:26] <abaumann> Roundcube only looked extremly ugly on the phone.
[17:28:45] <tyzoid> Yeah. I tried roundcube in the past. Their desktop interface wasn't great either
[17:29:04] <abaumann> there were pay-themes you could install.
[17:29:20] <tyzoid> Yeah. Also, this was several years ago, so it's likely changed some since then
