[19:22:03] <Condor> I've just installed Arch 32 on an old machine, but after installing lightdm, lightdm-gtk-greeter, xorg-server, and mate, then starting lightdm, all I see is a blinking cursor on the top left.. this setup used to work fine on "regular" 64-bit Arch. Do the configuration files for lightdm in Arch 32 need modification of some kind?
[19:23:41] <Condor> Granted, the 64-bit laptop that I installed regular Arch on with the same setup has been done about a year ago.. maybe some things have changed here and there, but not sure.. it sure did last through all its upgrades, so I doubt that it's an issue there

[19:26:10] <mauros> check your .Xauthority permissions or create a blank .Xauthority and try mate-session

[19:27:45] <Condor> hmm, pacman can't seem to find that
[19:28:47] <mauros> try pacman -S glibc
[19:29:00] <mauros> install it and run mate
[19:29:16] <Condor> installed it as part of base-devel iirc, currently reinstalling
[19:29:25] <mauros> same shit in arch 64
[19:29:40] <mauros> it's missing
[19:30:11] <mauros> now try again
[19:36:16] <Condor> oh, looks like it may have been a driver issue
[19:36:34] <Condor> had to install xorg-xinit and xf86-video-ati
