[23:22:05] <Alina-malina> anyone?
[23:22:38] <Alina-malina> I am not sure how to ask this, but will i be able to run a docker in this 32?
[23:45:20] <elibrokeit> Alina-malina: did you try installing the docker package that is in the i686 repository?
[23:45:46] <Alina-malina> well i found it like 10 minutes ago
[23:45:51] <Alina-malina> i thought it wont support it
[23:45:53] <elibrokeit> Do note that you won't be able to run a 64-bit container using the dockerd server
[23:45:55] <Alina-malina> but this is awesome
[23:45:58] <elibrokeit> docker officially does not
[23:46:06] <Alina-malina> what i can run inside of it?
[23:46:13] <elibrokeit> but they cannot stop other people from building the code anyway
[23:46:23] <Alina-malina> like php7?
[23:46:47] <elibrokeit> well -- docker (the client) can connect to a dockerd (the server) which is running on a second, x86_64 machine I believe
[23:46:56] <Alina-malina> oh
[23:47:02] <Alina-malina> thats something new
[23:47:04] <elibrokeit> alternatively, you can build your own i686 docker containers totally from scratch
[23:47:12] <Alina-malina> ye thats what i am trying to do
[23:47:19] <Alina-malina> but the dockerd, is like my own docker hub?
[23:47:27] <elibrokeit> because there are no public i686 containers, they the docker hub doesn't allow that
[23:47:35] <elibrokeit> docker hub is a place to store images
[23:47:50] <elibrokeit> dockerd is the thing which boots up an image and runs programs inside it
[23:48:04] <elibrokeit> and /usr/bin/docker is the CLI controller for dockerd
[23:48:35] <elibrokeit> you'll notice when running docker on your computer, first you start the dockerd.service, and then docker connects to that over a unix socket
[23:49:31] <Alina-malina> hmmm ok, well i am new to docker, what i was trying to do is to create my own images, and since i am on legacy laptop, want to make it my docker working environment
[23:49:43] <Alina-malina> like images from scratch
[23:49:44] <elibrokeit> -H, --host=[unix:///var/run/docker.sock]: tcp://[host]:[port][path] to bind or unix://[ to use.
[23:49:44] <elibrokeit> The socket(s) to bind to in daemon mode specified using one or more tcp://host:port unix:// fd://* or fd://socketfd.
[23:50:29] <elibrokeit> this is the argument to docker, which would let you connect on your laptop to a docker container hosted on some other machine
[23:50:37] <Alina-malina> oh
[23:50:42] <Alina-malina> this is awesome
[23:50:50] <elibrokeit> and doing that would let you control an x86_64 container, from an i686 personal laptop
[23:51:04] <Alina-malina> wow
