[00:40:20] <thePiGrepper> slacka123: what machine are you using? is it an atom-based one?

[02:26:27] <buildmaster> i686/virtualbox-modules-arch is broken (says buildknecht).
[03:03:05] <slacka123> thePiGrepper: Not atom based. It's a Core Duo T2600, You have any ideas other than trying older kernel or disabiling mitigations?
[03:05:22] <slacka123> system is unresponsive for .1 to 20 seconds. Sometimes even the mouse won't move under full load. Yet it's snappy with light load. I think it's a scheduler issue

[07:53:35] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[07:53:35] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[07:53:36] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> This will make guys happy, I actually checked the knowledge base of bugs first.. ;-)
[08:15:41] <abaumann> :: installing libvpx (1.8.0-1.0) breaks dependency 'libvpx.so=5-32' required by ffmpeg
[08:15:44] <abaumann> :: installing x265 (3.0-1.1) breaks dependency 'libx265.so=165-32' required by ffmpeg
[08:16:00] <abaumann> How can I break this cycle? And where do those versions come from? They sound like Archlinux32-specific. :-)
[08:16:17] <abaumann> what is -32? the architecture?
[08:24:13] <abaumann> aha, so the 5 or 165 corresponds to the ABI version major
[08:24:37] <abaumann> As nice this is to keep dependencies on libraries, it makes upgrading major release versions of libraries not so nice..
[08:26:21] -!- Alina-malina has joined #archlinux32

[08:31:57] <buildmaster> Hi deep42thought!
[08:31:58] <buildmaster> !rq deep42thought
[08:31:58] <phrik> buildmaster: <deep42thought> computers ranked by dirt: smokers, car mechanics, bedroom, ...
[08:32:02] <deep42thought> good morning
[08:35:59] <deep42thought> abaumann: that's why upstream discourages dependencies on such versions
[08:36:05] <deep42thought> yet they use it occassionally
[08:37:31] <deep42thought> btw: what package are you trying to build?
[08:40:33] <abaumann> hi deep42thought
[08:40:36] <deep42thought> Hi abaumann
[08:40:40] <abaumann> ffmpeg
[08:41:36] <deep42thought> ah, so ffmpeg depends on ffmpeg
[08:42:01] <abaumann> yeah. indirectly via those library links
[08:43:35] <deep42thought> I fail to see, why ffmpeg must be installed to compile ffmpeg
[08:44:30] <abaumann> libavcodec.so=58-32", a dependency of "x264"
[08:44:33] <abaumann> cyrcle?
[08:44:48] <deep42thought> ah, no it's not a cycle
[08:44:59] <deep42thought> the problem is, that x264 should be compiled first
[08:45:00] <deep42thought> I guess
[08:45:09] <abaumann> aha.
[08:45:13] <deep42thought> then it will work with the new (current) libavcodec
[08:46:01] <deep42thought> I'm scheduling it now
[08:46:28] <abaumann> ok.

[09:21:45] <phrik> buildmaster: <deep42thought> good night, python - cu tomorrow python2!
[09:58:49] <Vollzornbrot> deep42thought: moin
[09:58:57] <deep42thought> Hi Vollzornbrot
[09:59:03] <deep42thought> is your server back online?
[09:59:33] <deep42thought> I'm slowly killing all my connections to the outer world, it seems - so I'm not really up-to-date with all that stuff :-D
[09:59:53] * deep42thought is switching his mail server and broke some stuff on the way
[10:00:23] <Vollzornbrot> deep42thought: yes and no, how many days can you (verzichten)
[10:00:37] <deep42thought> as long as you need :-)
[10:00:55] <deep42thought> no hurry
[10:01:05] <Vollzornbrot> i need to reinstall my srv
[10:01:14] <deep42thought> you got backups of the vms?
[10:01:25] <deep42thought> or should I prepare to reinstall them from scratch?
[10:01:46] <deep42thought> (this would be mostly an emotionally preparation, though)
[10:02:28] <Vollzornbrot> uff backups?
[10:02:36] <Vollzornbrot> fantasy word....
[10:02:42] <deep42thought> ok, np :-D
[10:02:49] <Vollzornbrot> no i have backups ^
[10:10:25] <abaumann> backup is for loosers.. ;-)
[11:26:07] <abaumann> archlinux32.org down?
[11:26:32] <deep42thought> looks like it is
[11:27:03] <deep42thought> "New mail! From Uptime Robot respecting Monitor is DOWN: Archlinux32 Home"
[11:27:12] <deep42thought> you're faster than uptimerobot
[11:27:13] <abaumann> I'm faster than a robot :-)
[11:27:16] <abaumann> LOL
[11:27:30] <abaumann> I'm also faster on comenting..
[11:27:35] <deep42thought> you are
[11:27:38] <deep42thought> my fingers are cold
[11:27:39] <deep42thought> ...
[11:27:53] <abaumann> also no central heating anymore? after loosing your internet? ;-)
[11:28:07] <deep42thought> I'm at work
[11:28:07] <abaumann> it's rainy, windy and cold also here..

[11:28:57] <deep42thought> There I have internet and a colleag who likes to open windows even though it is windy, rainy and cold
[11:29:14] <abaumann> fresh air enthusiast.. :-)
[11:29:28] <deep42thought> I am too, honestly
[11:30:42] <abaumann> go-go-gadgeto-cooking.. :-)
[11:31:43] <abaumann> Just found a "Tom Kha Lazy Set" :-)
[11:31:54] <abaumann> mmh. I have no chicken..
[11:43:52] <Vollzornbrot> cheeseburger -> mcdonalds 1eur
[11:44:01] <Vollzornbrot> i am the fatman!
[11:44:28] <deep42thought> you can stay slim if you don't eat anything at all every so often
[11:44:45] <deep42thought> then it doesn't matter how "fat" all the other meals are ;-)
[11:44:48] <Vollzornbrot> hmm only 1 fastfood per day? :P
[11:44:52] <deep42thought> exactly
[11:45:02] <deep42thought> that's how I lived during semester breaks
[11:45:22] <Vollzornbrot> rofl
[11:45:29] <deep42thought> hmm, I'm hungry - damn, the Mensa is closed already (it closes at 3pm), well,I'll try tomorrow
[11:46:39] <Vollzornbrot> x2go is the best (all other ports blocked in my work) :D
[11:47:33] <deep42thought> why bother to block ports for sysadmins / info geeks / mint-students at all? They will circumvent it anyways (at least /I/ always did)
[11:56:09] -!- thePiGrepper has joined #archlinux32
[12:08:42] <thePiGrepper> slacka123: do you still have your previous arch build, which kernel did it used to have. as someone else said, it could be either a new version of xorg, mesa or even the kernel or glibc. Im leaning on 1-3. but I think you can try to compile those old versions of the packages one at a time and give it a go.
[12:10:33] <deep42thought> we also changed the scheduler at some point (as did upstream)
[12:32:05] <thePiGrepper> deep42thought: did you happen to find an alternative to ptpb?
[12:32:12] <thePiGrepper> deep42thought: hello,btw
[13:14:17] * buildmaster failed to execute a mysql query - can you have a look at "tmp.mysql-functions.query.2019-03-14T12:11:55.jo363I.stdin"?.

[13:40:01] <deep42thought> thePiGrepper: I didn't really search for one
[13:42:30] <deep42thought> abaumann: did you restart mysqld?

[14:49:15] <abaumann> deep42thought: not now. This morning I updated and rebooted the machine..
[14:49:24] <deep42thought> thx
[14:49:35] <deep42thought> it looks like mysqld dumped several cores
[14:49:54] <deep42thought> ... I hope, we still have enough spare cores, so it can dump some more
[14:53:08] <abaumann> oh..
[14:53:48] <deep42thought> looks promising, hmm?
[14:54:05] <abaumann> sortwhat busy.
[14:54:47] <abaumann> that's the hourly snapshot..
[14:54:56] <deep42thought> oh
[14:55:36] <abaumann> looks normal.

[15:11:23] <buildmaster> i686/qcad is broken (says nlopc46).
[15:27:51] * buildmaster failed to execute a mysql query - can you have a look at "tmp.mysql-functions.query.2019-03-14T14:25:36.OB5env.stdin"?.
[15:29:38] <deep42thought> crashed, again ...
[15:29:48] <abaumann> with core dump and so?
[15:30:19] <deep42thought> yes
[15:30:41] <deep42thought> [ERROR] mysqld got signal 6 ;
[15:31:06] <abaumann> This is a 64-bit mysql.. mmh..
[15:32:35] <deep42thought> shouldn't it be?
[15:33:43] <abaumann> yeah. I would just have not wondered with the 32-bit version..
[15:33:57] <abaumann> there are still errors making mysql no compile on Archlinux32 currently
[15:34:17] <abaumann> the last update was merely updating the kernel.
[15:34:21] <abaumann> nothing mysql related..
[15:34:31] <deep42thought> yeah, that would be the next step in crazyness: hosting archlinux32 on archlinux32 :-D
[15:34:38] <abaumann> self-hosting. :-)
[15:34:45] <abaumann> the true brutal way..
[15:34:57] <deep42thought> it's a nobel goal - but not with <5 devs ;-P
[15:35:07] <abaumann> exactly.
[15:57:46] <abaumann> mysqld dumps core in pthread_cond_wait, even if I just start it up.. I'll reboot the machine..
[15:57:49] -!- buildmaster has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[16:00:31] -!- deep42thought has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
[16:07:18] <abaumann> did I mention already, that I hate Mysql and I don't consider it to be an actual database?
[16:07:29] <abaumann> downgrading the kernel didn't help.
[16:08:03] <abaumann> so, the question is? going back to a backup before the crashes?
[16:20:28] -!- jason0597 has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds]
[16:44:52] -!- jason0597 has joined #archlinux32
[17:01:25] <abaumann> ok. there is no way to get the buildmaster to work again with current data, so I'll go back to a (hopefully) good backup
[17:06:57] <abaumann> -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 27167812 Mar 14 13:55 database-2019-03-14-13:50:36.xz
[17:07:04] <abaumann> last one looking good.
[17:07:18] <abaumann> we might have to clean up later as now the state of the mirror and the buildmaster differ
[17:30:24] <abaumann> to me it's quite unclear how to restore the buildmaster database: bootstrap-mysql seems to be there to create a buildmaster user, but where is the password in the scripts? Which artifacts are created with the bootstraping script, which once come from the database dump?
[17:31:18] <abaumann> Also I remember Mysql having trouble with circular definitions in dumps and stuff..
[17:32:40] <abaumann> I leave it.. no chance..
