[10:29:49] -!- deep42thought has joined #archlinux32
[10:29:50] <buildmaster> Hi deep42thought!
[10:29:50] <buildmaster> !rq deep42thought
[10:29:51] <phrik> buildmaster: <deep42thought> *mimimi* tyzoid *mimimimi*
[10:30:06] <deep42thought> elibrokeit: what is $host_mirrors needed for if not for setting up the chroot?
[10:30:36] <deep42thought> e.g. why does archbuild and friends care at all about how the host installs packages?
[10:31:13] <buildmaster> pentium4/linux is broken (says eurobuild3).
[10:31:13] -!- eschwartz has joined #archlinux32
[10:31:16] <deep42thought> to my understanding, the host could be any operating system which has the capabilities to install packages into a directory with "pacman" and afterwards chroot there
[10:37:44] <buildmaster> i686/linux-zen is broken (says eurobuild3).
[10:44:45] -!- abaumann has joined #archlinux32
[10:44:45] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[10:44:45] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[10:44:46] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> they should have called it 'features: side-channel'
[10:45:35] <deep42thought> Hi Andreas!
[10:45:41] <abaumann> hi deep42thought
[10:46:01] <abaumann> your are back in the wonderful connected world of the internet?
[10:46:26] <deep42thought> I took a day free ... to go to my office to (ab)use the internet :-D
[10:46:33] <abaumann> hehe
[10:47:12] <deep42thought> in the new flat, we got no phone, no internet, no water in the kitchen, (almost) no lights, and lots and lots of "stuff" lying around everywhere
[10:47:30] <abaumann> oeh.
[10:48:19] <deep42thought> can you imagine: I had to step on the balkony to check for the weather - outrageous!
[10:49:32] <abaumann> indeed! :-)
[10:50:52] <deep42thought> no idea what's up with linux and linux-zen: the sources download fine (from my archive-tarballer here) from my machines
[10:51:00] <deep42thought> so I just forced the build onto my machines ...
[10:51:19] <abaumann> yeah. I had one building, one failing
[10:51:49] <deep42thought> you can cache the source (between i686 and pentium4)
[10:55:48] <deep42thought> elibrokeit: I will definitely use e9a32ced0b0e89483fe1e15de9190e07ae876385 - this is much cleaner than what we are doing currently
[10:55:59] <deep42thought> but I'm afraid, I'm busy this week with other things ;-)
[11:07:10] -!- deep42thought has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
[11:08:08] -!- abaumann has quit [Quit: leaving]

[14:39:15] <elibrokeit> deep42thought: again, the point of $host_mirrors is that they come from the host... if you want to take them from the guest, then you should be renaming it to guest_mirrors...
[14:39:38] <elibrokeit> and better yet, if you take them from the guest, you might as well delete many lines of code and not mess with that file at all
[14:40:34] <elibrokeit> > the host could be any operating system which has the capabilities to install packages into a directory with "pacman" and afterwards chroot there
[14:40:34] <elibrokeit> Yes, and archbuild will retrieve the mirror used by that pacman command...
[14:41:12] <elibrokeit> the point is that chroots are by design ephemeral, and the host is more likely to have a working mirror -- in fact, to be optimized for a really fast mirror
[14:41:56] <elibrokeit> and sometimes, it will have a mirror served over file:// because the same computer is a mirror host, in which case you want to use that fast, fast file:// access

[15:54:09] <T`aZ> error: ethtool: signature from "Erich Eckner (just to sign arch packages) <arch@eckner.net>" is marginal trust
[15:54:19] <T`aZ> for all the packages in fact
[15:58:19] <buildmaster> pentium4/sagemath is broken (says rechenknecht).

[16:56:49] -!- midn has joined #archlinux32
[16:57:14] <midn> I got a problem and I've no clue where to start debugging - I'm using lightdm and xfce4 and when I try to login, it shuts down and restarts. I disabled lightdm with systemctl and tried doing startx by myself, same thing, so it's probably not the dm.
[16:57:33] <midn> It only crashes around 80% of the time, other times it loads fine.
[17:01:25] <midn> I have a log of Xorg.0.log if it helps: http://ix.io
[17:16:55] <midn> This time it didn't even crash it just froze, couldn't even switch TTYs.

[17:33:35] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> who would have thought digital books burn too. ;-)
[17:33:54] <abaumann> hi midn: which video card do you have and does your CPU have SSE2?
[17:34:05] <abaumann> What's your journalctl showing?
[17:34:39] <abaumann> Actually, I would start a post in the forum, https://bbs.archlinux32.org

[17:34:57] <abaumann> usually more people are there to help.. :-)

[17:35:26] <midn> It's an intel atom n2600 so it does have sse2, not sure how to check the video card

[17:35:30] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> it's modern software in the end.. it _has_ to compile that long in order to get good.. ;-)
[17:36:14] <abaumann> T`aZ: cannot really reproduce key issues.. did you try to reload and update the PGP keys with pacman-key --refresh?

[22:32:56] <tubep> anything i can do ?
[22:40:40] <T`aZ> in pacman.conf, change architecture from/to i686, pentium4or auto , and try again ?
[22:44:47] <elibrokeit> tubep: latest pacman is patched to assume "auto" means pentium4, so you can potentially get those issues.
[23:00:13] <buildmaster> pentium4/arrayfire is broken (says eurobuild3).
[23:00:28] <tubep> okay
[23:05:57] <tubep> okay, changing architecture worked! just booted to new install, thanks!
