[07:02:46] <phrik> Title: GitHub - dopsi/al32-torrent: Torrent creation script for ArchLinux32 (at github.com)
[07:04:23] <abaumann> deep42thought: I changed innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit=0 on the buildmaster, this lowers the I/O load a bit, though now if the machine dies there is a bigger chance to have unfinished transactions.
[07:04:37] <abaumann> buildmaster: yes, I'm talking about you :-)

[08:51:09] <buildmaster> Hi deep42thought!
[08:51:09] <buildmaster> !rq deep42thought
[08:51:10] <phrik> buildmaster: <deep42thought> one day, some genius will prove, that all programming languages are isomorphic and there is actually only _one_ compiler
[08:51:16] <deep42thought> good morning, abaumann!
[08:51:33] <deep42thought> you're the database expert - change whatever you deem necessary to lower the i/o
[08:52:06] <deep42thought> having an inconsistent db on a crash is not such a big issue - in the end, the content is mostly available in the .db.tar.gz, too, anyways
[09:03:47] <buildmaster> i686/haskell-reinterpret-cast is broken (says eurobuild6-5) - I rescheduled: haskell-data-binary-ieee754: https://archlinux32.org
[09:09:19] <buildmaster> i686/haskell-hackage-security is broken (says rechenknecht) - I rescheduled: haskell-cryptohash-sha256: https://archlinux32.org
[09:12:48] <buildmaster> i686/haskell-hledger-lib is broken (says nlopc46): https://archlinux32.org
[09:56:49] <deep42thought> btw: why do we build linux-lts with a single config for i486, i686 and pentium4 - but have three configs for linux?
[10:21:32] <buildmaster> i686/haskell-iproute is broken (says eurobuild6-1) - I rescheduled: haskell-byteorder: https://archlinux32.org
[10:45:46] <abaumann> deep42thought: this is an extremly interesting question..
[10:46:25] <deep42thought> the kernel builds successfully, but I guess, one cannot actually _use_ it ;-)
[10:46:46] <abaumann> CONFIG_M686=y
[10:47:10] <abaumann> so, it was one i686 config before the i686/pentium4 split and I never bothered to have a linux-lts kernel for i486, most likely :-)
[10:47:24] <deep42thought> yes
[10:47:42] <deep42thought> and it was one config for i686 and x86_64 upstream too (or they removed the diversity)
[10:47:46] <deep42thought> ?
[10:48:06] <abaumann> most likely yes
[10:48:22] <abaumann> I mean, they removed it most likely
[10:50:38] <deep42thought> so: should we bother creating a poper linux-lts for i486 or should we simply blacklist it?
[10:50:44] <deep42thought> (I don't need/use it)
[10:51:10] <abaumann> It's just one setting for CPU march=i486
[10:51:23] <deep42thought> we could sed that one :-)
[10:51:36] <deep42thought> otoh: what comes next?
[10:51:39] <deep42thought> smaller buffers?
[10:51:49] <deep42thought> disabling of other (unavailable) stuff?
[10:51:55] <abaumann> yeah, but a proper i486 config will include other, older hardware and not include some newer stuff maybe in the future
[10:52:02] <abaumann> yes, old-machine patches
[10:52:25] <deep42thought> the question is: do we want to put in the effort for a linux-lts kernel
[10:52:29] <deep42thought> for i486
[10:52:29] <abaumann> for instance legacy NE2000 network cards :->
[10:52:37] <deep42thought> :-D
[10:52:50] <abaumann> I don't use it currently, so I'm also fine with blacklisting it for now.
[10:53:09] <deep42thought> ok
[10:53:26] <deep42thought> same goes for linux-zen?
[10:53:36] <abaumann> I never used zen at all :-)
[10:55:13] <deep42thought> !grab abaumann
[10:55:14] <phrik> deep42thought: Tada!
[10:57:22] <deep42thought> hmm, my cgit sometimes reports empty repositories - have you seen something like that before?
[10:57:31] <deep42thought> The issue seems to go away by itself
[10:57:40] <deep42thought> but it's really annoying as long as it is there ...
[10:58:00] <abaumann> mmh. never seen that.
[11:09:56] <abaumann> cool. extra-cmake-modules needs deepin-anything
[11:10:02] <deep42thought> wooot
[11:10:08] <abaumann> featuritis.
[11:10:24] <deep42thought> this is not just a checkdepends?
[11:10:53] <deep42thought> I dont see it here: https://www.archlinux.org
[11:10:55] <phrik> Title: Arch Linux - extra-cmake-modules 5.60.0-1 (any) (at www.archlinux.org)
[11:11:08] <abaumann> It was just in the build logs.
[11:11:14] <abaumann> maybe a temporary thing?
[11:11:33] <deep42thought> ah, no
[11:11:40] <deep42thought> it needs "qt5-tool"
[11:11:46] <deep42thought> which is provided by deepin-anything
[11:11:49] <deep42thought> so it shows up
[11:11:53] <deep42thought> https://www.archlinux32.org
[11:11:55] <abaumann> as a choice.
[11:11:55] <phrik> Title: Arch Linux 32 - extra-cmake-modules 5.55.0-1.0 (any) (at www.archlinux32.org)
[11:12:00] <abaumann> oh.
[11:13:05] <deep42thought> however, why deepin-anything provides qt5-tools, is beyond me ...
[11:14:41] <abaumann> I don't see it in deepin-anything (in the PKGBUILD)
[11:14:52] <abaumann> corrupt dependency of some sort?
[11:14:57] <deep42thought> might be
[11:15:15] <deep42thought> anyways: It should not matter
[11:15:47] <abaumann> qt5-tools should exist.. if not, then this might be the problem.
[11:15:54] <deep42thought> yes
[11:20:29] <buildmaster> i686/haskell-sbv is broken (says eurobuild6-5): https://archlinux32.org

[13:23:38] <panosdev> why aren't there torrents with more recent isos on the download page?
[13:25:10] <panosdev> I tried to use the torrent but the image didn't work due to bad/outdated keys on the iso and pacstrap failed with error:
[13:25:12] <panosdev> error: archlinux-keyring: signature from "Erich Eckner (just to sign arch packages) <arch@eckner.net>" is unknown trust
[13:27:36] <panosdev> I tried to follow the instructions on this stackoverflow post but nothing worked because for some reason I couldn't delete any files (tried with rm run as root)

[13:29:55] <panosdev> to make matters worse during my attempt to install arch linux 32 the CD drive died and now I can't boot from any CD

[13:31:39] <panosdev> and the laptop doesn't even support USB booting so I'll have to try the integrated PXE or replace the CD drive
[13:47:04] <deep42thought> bill-auger: what do I set $TORRENT_ANNOUNCE_URL to? Do we need to run a tracker for this to work?
[14:08:28] <bill-auger> deep42thought: all torrrents files are associated with one or more trackers - if you do not want to run your own, you can ask distrowatch for a slot - i made it optional in that script because the magnet URL does not need a tracker but can be used with torrent clients if they support it
[14:09:55] <bill-auger> the magnet URL are usually slower to start though - they use some sort of DHT so they must hunt for peers each time - torrents start immediately because all peers are logged by the tracker
[14:12:42] <bill-auger> there is a sample config beside that script you can customize for the torrent https://git.parabola.nu
[14:12:44] <phrik> Title: TORRENT_METADATA.sample\parabolaiso - parabolaiso.git - Tools for creating Parabola GNU/Linux-libre live and install iso images (at git.parabola.nu)
[14:22:13] <bill-auger> i found an error in one of the user facing strings, if you took the script yesterday, get the new one today

[21:52:01] <slacka123> deep42thought: Just FYI mutter in pentium4/testing causes GNOME to fail to load. Should probably downgrade mutter in testing or consider pulling in ALL of gnome 3.32
[21:52:32] <deep42thought> let's move gnome, then
[21:53:13] <slacka123> I'll give it a test if you do
[21:53:31] <slacka123> In the mean time, rest of stuff in pentium4/testing seems stable
[21:54:03] <deep42thought> ok, so we should maybe move everything from testing first, then :-)
[21:54:22] <slacka123> everything minus mutter
[21:54:47] <deep42thought> yes :-D
[22:18:12] <deep42thought> looks, like there was not so much gnomeish stuff in staging :-/
