[00:00:36] <hugosthlm> girls: No, it has to add some modules, and disable the ALSA modules.
[00:02:23] <hugosthlm> girls: It lists all the modules in the system. The system is up and running, a lot of them are loaded.
[00:04:00] <girls> I thought, the usual way to get rid of a module is to blacklist it
[00:04:21] <girls> e.g. put an entry into /etc/modprobe.d/
[00:04:34] <girls> but I'm 100% unfamiliar to oss
[00:05:38] <girls> sry, it's time for my bed, now (I feel, I was not a big help anyway)
[00:06:27] <hugosthlm> girls: Yes, but the modules might be loaded, so they must be removed. I have no clue to why it has to look into at all the modules either.
[00:19:54] <hugosthlm> It seems it's "relinking" the kernel modules, whatever that means. I guess some incompatibility between the kernel modules and the ones I compiled prevents that. Just a question about what.
[00:22:08] <hugosthlm> T`aZ: I am trying to complile and run oss-git from AUR with the pentium4 architecture.
[00:23:05] <hugosthlm> OSS is an old ALSA replacement i use for a professional soundcard on this old machine dedicated to sound.
[00:23:43] <T`aZ> i know what oss is, i used it before alsa existed ^^
[00:24:25] <T`aZ> do you have logs or something other than that error message ?
[00:25:36] <hugosthlm> T`aZ: That's what I get. These thousands of ELF errors and return code 20 from soundon.
[00:26:25] <T`aZ> have you tried with the regular oss package (non git version) ?
[00:26:47] <hugosthlm> T`aZ: Could there be an incompatibility between the running system and the delivered makepkg.conf?
[00:28:04] <T`aZ> maybe maybe not, it sounds like a scripting error though
[00:28:27] <T`aZ> can you run 'file' on the manually uncompressed .ko file ?
[00:29:07] <hugosthlm> T`aZ: Yes, it was flagged outdated, but I tried it and it did not seem to work.
[00:31:50] <T`aZ> seems that oss-git got updated 2 days ago, are you trying with that last version ?
[00:32:46] <T`aZ> also, please run file on the .ko file, to see if it has been compiled properly
[00:33:09] <hugosthlm> T`aZ: Yes, last version.
[00:33:14] <hugosthlm> slask: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), BuildID[sha1]=3b057607f8b7fdd3f43ab4031792ef363d9f37e0, not stripped
[00:35:49] <T`aZ> that's a good start
[00:35:51] <hugosthlm> osscore.ko: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), BuildID[sha1]=ec546866f7f22abf2d605c7c332d3fa5a9f76208, not str
[00:35:51] <hugosthlm> ipped
[00:36:49] <hugosthlm> These are the new modules
[00:37:27] <hugosthlm> Seems pretty similar, except for the hash
[00:38:19] <hugosthlm> T`a
[00:39:23] <hugosthlm> T`aZ: Theres a long build script from the oss build. If I rebuild I can look foir problems there. But it's long and full of warnings.
[00:39:44] <T`aZ> paste that somewhere
[00:42:05] <T`aZ> the src package is full of crappy scripts, i cant find where they try to install :(
[00:46:16] <hugosthlm> they build them in /usr/lib/oss
[00:46:39] <hugosthlm> Not sure if they copy them somewhere and in that case where
[00:48:04] <hugosthlm> You find the executables in /usr/lib/oss/build
[00:50:51] <hugosthlm> I am rebulding to get the build log. Takes maybe half an hour here :)

[00:52:39] <hugosthlm> But not the same problem.
[00:54:02] <hugosthlm> brb when the build is finished.
[00:54:21] <T`aZ> ll go to sleep, highlight me tomorrow if you still haven't found a solution, i might take a look again
[01:15:12] <hugosthlm> T`aZ: C u!
[01:15:39] <hugosthlm> console crashed, trying again!
[01:35:15] <hugosthlm> I see this error in the buld script.
