[13:41:35] <eschwartz> We're going to be having some fun with python 3.8 now, ecosystem rebuilds are about to start.
[13:42:47] <eschwartz> I've dug into the packages in setuptools' dep tree, and it seems like the degrade to build with distutils if setuptools is not available, so it seems like those could just be built as is, with a broken depends on the wrong python version of setuptools, and it will just work (okay for bootstrapping)
