[02:05:32] <eschwartz> deep42thought, abaumann: what's the status of syncing icu 67 to stable? It comes with important libprovides which parabola would really like to rely on in order to be consistent across architectures.

[07:58:30] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[07:58:31] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> *abaumann feelds Sunday morning sarcasm entering the room - not that it would be any different from weekday sarcasm.
[08:00:59] * abaumann upgraded a backup server, mount(2) system call failed: Structure needs cleaning (maybe the RAID memory is bad?), and the power-supply on that machine died (eurobuild3).
[08:07:06] -!- deep42thought has joined #archlinux32
[08:07:07] <buildmaster> Hi deep42thought!
[08:07:07] <buildmaster> !rq deep42thought
[08:07:08] <phrik> buildmaster: <deep42thought> modern virtual machines are so advanced, they even emulate hardware failure :-9
[08:07:11] <deep42thought> Hi abaumann!
[08:10:47] <abaumann> hi deep42thought
[08:11:11] <abaumann> about icu 67 to stable.
[08:11:18] <deep42thought> any idea, what's going on with buddyns?
[08:11:24] <abaumann> huh?
[08:11:25] <abaumann> no
[08:11:31] <deep42thought> I sent you an email
[08:11:53] <abaumann> oh. yeah.
[08:11:59] <abaumann> we are well over their free plan.
[08:12:02] <abaumann> too many accesses
[08:12:14] <deep42thought> do you have a paid account?
[08:12:19] <deep42thought> which we could use?
[08:12:28] <abaumann> I do, but I might have to extend it then
[08:13:51] <abaumann> but it could also mean, we have too many attacks or mail problems on the server
[08:14:10] <abaumann> I sent once 1 million emails as open relay, I noticed because of the 90% warning of Buddyns
[08:14:22] <deep42thought> :-D
[08:14:35] <abaumann> 323 of 3000 kqr/mo used
[08:14:39] <abaumann> 4 of 10 zones used.
[08:14:41] <abaumann> sounds good
[08:15:18] <abaumann> mmh a raid controller from 2003 might not know about 2 TB hard disks..
[08:15:19] <deep42thought> ok, so lets move to your account, then
[08:15:37] <deep42thought> didn't old hdds have this 4GB-jumper?
[08:15:42] <abaumann> lol
[08:15:59] <deep42thought> or are those false memories from my childhood?
[08:16:12] <abaumann> I'm hunting an inofficial firmware patch for a promise 150 SX4
[08:17:11] <abaumann> mmh. am I free, advanced or an astronaut?
[08:17:46] <deep42thought> lol
[08:28:15] <abaumann> about icu 67 (btw, where is 66)
[08:28:18] <abaumann> forced move?
[08:28:26] <abaumann> and collect the debris.. :-)
[08:29:18] <deep42thought> yeah, why not
[08:29:31] <deep42thought> I'll be on the road, today - so you'll need to fix this ;-)
[08:29:47] <abaumann> ah, ok.
[08:29:56] <abaumann> I'll have a look into the status of testing..
[08:30:05] <abaumann> but first I'll fix my backup server
[08:30:15] <abaumann> happy road today :-)
[08:31:15] <deep42thought> thanks
[08:32:41] <deep42thought> hopefully, your backupserver doesn't take as long to fix as my e2fsck ...
[08:33:03] <deep42thought> current instance running for 13 days :-)
[08:33:10] <abaumann> hope so too :-/
[08:33:28] <abaumann> I found an old power supply, strong enough.
[08:36:31] <deep42thought> a tesla coil?
[08:39:28] <abaumann> naeh. old pentium-d server with quite a good power supply and board
[08:39:36] <abaumann> sadly the mobo is dead in that one
[08:39:43] <abaumann> too modern anyway. ;-)
[08:45:05] <abaumann> dd: error writing '/dev/sdb': Input/output error
[08:45:16] * abaumann hates usb external floppies on the cheap

[10:27:37] <abaumann> in bbs.archlinux32, I mean. Otherwise the message (ad, whatever) still gets a place in the board, which may lead to problems.

[20:07:49] <T`aZ> how are you guys compiling for archlinux32 ? do you have a ready to use fs ? container? vm ?

[20:11:14] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[20:11:14] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[20:11:15] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> So I prefer cheap bootstrapping methods over the correct ones :-)
[20:11:33] * abaumann is back with a new backup RAID
[20:12:15] <abaumann> deep42thought: shut down eurobuild1, is a broken slave it looks like.
[20:13:17] <abaumann> T`aZ: we basically use a modified version of devtools (devtools32 in git.archlinux32.org), slaves are running mostly on 64-bit Archlinux using systemd-nspawns.
[20:13:27] <abaumann> Setup instructions are here: https://bbs.archlinux32.org
[20:13:29] <phrik> Title: How to create a build slave? / Building / Arch Linux 32 Forum (at bbs.archlinux32.org)
[20:14:15] <abaumann> what's also handy: asp32 to check out a package and the use staging-pentium4-build, staging-i686-build by hand on it.
[20:14:41] <abaumann> there is one exception, some i486 slaves run natively on virtual machines enforcing a i486 CPU.
[20:14:56] <abaumann> but again, they use devtools32 inside that virtual machine.
[20:15:46] <abaumann> the devtools scripts create a chroot and run the build inside it
[20:16:18] <abaumann> this also explains, why sometimes "smart" configure scripts detect stuff from the 64-bit host and start to build funny stuff into the packags. :-)
[20:17:17] <abaumann> deep42thought: my eurobuild6* slaves will come up after I completely synched my raids, so tomorrow probably..
