[00:07:04] <buildmaster> i686/psi-plugins are broken (says eurobuild6-3): https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=i686&p=psi-plugins
[00:27:58] <KillerWasp> jonathon18> if 64-bit works then it's very likely the better option
[00:28:24] <KillerWasp> precisely the 64-bit system is stopping working correctly, that is why I am looking for another system.
[00:29:55] <KillerWasp> this buildmaster does not advertise well by saying that all the packages are broken.
[00:36:38] <buildmaster> i686/python-pyproj is broken (says eurobuild6-6): https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=i686&p=python-pyproj

[02:02:27] <buildmaster> pentium4/haskell-postgresql-simple is broken (says nlopc46) - I rescheduled: haskell-postgresql-libpq: https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=pentium4&p=haskell-postgresql-simple
[02:09:55] <buildmaster> i486/rustup is broken (says eurobuild3-i486): https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=i486&p=rustup
[02:31:27] <bill-auger> KillerWasp: your intention seems to be misguided - if your srch system is broken, and especially if you have not installed any third-party software, then all you need to do is report bugs
[02:31:55] <buildmaster> pentium4/libplacebo is broken (says nlopc46): https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=pentium4&p=libplacebo
[02:32:51] <bill-auger> if all of your software was installed from arch packages, then it should all work perfectly, unless you broke it somehow
[02:33:25] <bill-auger> if the arch packages are at fault, then file a bug report and it will be fixed
[02:34:27] <bill-auger> if you broke the system, you could restore the files you messed up, or re-install the system
[02:34:41] <bill-auger> either way, its not a great reason to switch distros
[02:35:37] <KillerWasp> bill-auger# then what's buildmaster?
[02:36:26] <bill-auger> if you use arch32, you will also need to be prepared to file bug reports and fix problems manually, but it will be more-so important
[02:36:33] <KillerWasp> bill-auger# also, I have already reported the errors found.
[02:36:38] <bill-auger> it the autobuilder machine
[02:37:34] <KillerWasp> Unless the errors found in the wiki have to be reported in bugtrack as well.
[02:37:35] <bill-auger> another thing to note, is that arch32 uses all of the same arch PKGBUILD recipes
[02:37:49] <bill-auger> if there is a bug in the arch package, it is very likely to be present in arch32 also
[02:38:27] <bill-auger> conversely, if the bug in the arch package gets fixed, it is likely be fixed in arch32 automatically
[02:39:00] <bill-auger> im not sure how arch handles documentation bugs - but a wiki is .... a wiki
[02:39:04] <KillerWasp> The architecture I use is x64_86, I try to go from archlinux 64bit to 32bit, but it is impossible because the architecture is different, you cannot follow the instructions in the wiki.
[02:39:17] <bill-auger> wikis are intended to be modified by everyone - so fix it yourself
[02:40:00] <KillerWasp> bill-auger# Are you saying that I should find a solution and fix the instructions on the wiki?
[02:40:02] <bill-auger> you can not migrate a 64bit OS to 32 bit - though possible in theiry, i would not bother
[02:40:31] <bill-auger> if you know the solution, then yes - everyone wants you to improve the wiki
[02:41:20] <bill-auger> if people do not agree with your changes, they will argue about it on the discussion page, or revert them if you can not justify them
[02:42:21] <bill-auger> if i were you, i would create a new partition and install arch32 to it = then you can test it out without disturbing your arch system
[02:44:04] <bill-auger> but again, youre probably best off, sticking with arch proper - unless youre just adventurous and want to experiment with a new distro
[02:47:25] <KillerWasp> bill-auger# The first time I took the archlinux distribution it was 32 bit, and I was comfortable. But at some point I was forced to go 64-bit, I wanted to venture again and receive again the 32-bit distro that I liked so much.
[02:47:50] <buildmaster> i486/libplacebo is broken (says eurobuild3-i486): https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=i486&p=libplacebo
[02:48:01] <bill-auger> thats great - it really is the same distro though
[02:49:59] <bill-auger> i work on parabola - parabola has repos for x86_64 (based mainly on arch PKGBUILDs), i686 (based mainly on arch32 PKGBUILDs),, armv7h (based mainly on archarm PKGBUILDs), also RISC-V, POWER9, and ARM64 are in the works
[02:50:43] <bill-auger> the point being that these are essentially all the same software, based on the same PKGBUILDs - the differences are minimal, only those necessary for different arches
[02:55:29] <bill-auger> the install guide on the arhc wiki should work perfectly for arch32 - i cant imagine why there would be any difference
[02:57:16] <buildmaster> pentium4/cheese is broken (says rechenknecht): https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=pentium4&p=cheese
[03:04:50] <KillerWasp> bill-auger# thanks
[03:05:49] <buildmaster> pentium4/grilo-plugins are broken (says nlopc46): https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=pentium4&p=grilo-plugins
[03:05:54] <KillerWasp> I think it is best to install a new system from an ISO and not convert an Archlinux into 32 bits. I could break the whole system and be left with nothing.
[03:06:22] <KillerWasp> i should experience those things in virtual machines.

[08:20:34] <bill-auger> there may be a conflict between ffmpeg and libaom - i get a link error building clementine:
[08:20:34] <bill-auger> /usr/bin/ld: warning: libaom.so.2, needed by /usr/lib/libavcodec.so.58, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)
[08:21:45] <bill-auger> the arch packages use libaom.so.3 - i will look into it more tomorrow
[08:24:58] <bill-auger> ok, i see it in testing - but the ffmpeg in extra needs it
[08:27:01] <bill-auger> actually i may be confused - it loks like i had testing enabled - i will check better tomorrow
[08:29:03] <bill-auger> testing/aom 3.0.0-2.1 [installed]
[08:29:03] <bill-auger> extra/ffmpeg 2:4.3.2-6.2 [installed]
[08:30:38] <bill-auger> guess that answers my own question - sry fer the noise
[08:31:33] <bill-auger> the new ffmpeg is in [staging] - but i did not have staging enabled
[08:59:27] <buildmaster> Hi deep42thought!
[08:59:27] <buildmaster> !rq deep42thought
[08:59:29] <phrik> buildmaster: but since we're in IT, here, we do not expect the stuff to be democratic - just imagine all our build slaves putting a parliament in place and starting to elect their own leader. The result is, that the wording hardly matters: It does not matter if you call them slaves or workers.
[09:00:07] <deep42thought> bill-auger: so, we should move ffmpeg from staging to testing, then - right?
[09:04:21] <buildmaster> i486/steam is broken (says eurobuild3-i486): https://archlinux32.org/buildmaster/build-log.php?a=i486&p=steam
[09:20:26] <bill-auger> not sure - whatever the normal workflow is
[09:20:51] <deep42thought> "normal" would be, if the buildmaster did move it on its own :-D
[09:22:37] <bill-auger> if testing is intended to be sane without staging, (or staging without testing) - whichever direction, aom and ffnpeg need to travel together
[09:22:46] <deep42thought> ok
[09:22:53] <deep42thought> testing should work without staging
[09:22:59] <deep42thought> but staging requires all levels
[09:23:26] <deep42thought> though, packages in staging may be broken on purpose (temporarily)

[12:28:04] <deep42thought> or rather: was the proposal, that there be such an option
[12:31:02] <T`aZ> it's to have drivers written in rust, and the makefile checking appropriate rust compiler being availlable
